THREE CORNERS RANCH

Three Corners Ranch is located in a picturesque area in Desoto, Missouri on about 20 acres of mostly pasture. My fiance, Greg, and I have put a lot of hard work and hard to come by hours into getting this ranch off the ground.  Since we purchased the property in 2001, we’ve installed all of the fencing and built a beautiful six stall barn. Greg has been the driving force behind this operation, pushing me out of bed on Sunday mornings to get working when I’d really rather be sleeping in.

Three Corners Ranch was officially established in 2001, but the idea of it actually started much earlier.  Since the time I was a kid, being around horses was all I ever really wanted to do.  I received my degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri and started a career in manufacturing management; obviously totally unrelated to my degree.  When I started the career in management, I thought my plan for starting a ranch was doomed.   As responsibilities for other things grew, the idea seemed to take a back seat.  However, once I got my feet wet, I realized that the income from my first career would better allow me the opportunity to start my second, the ranch.

Through most of my childhood and adolescent years, my family kept horses for trail riding and taking to local shows and activities.  When I left for college, the horses were eventually sold.  Well they may have been gone, but not forgotten…when I got out of college and got a job, the first major purchase I made was another horse.

Throughout the years, I was introduced to a lot of “horse disciplines” that I didn’t really know much about…cutting, team penning, CMSA.  Basic performance horse stuff, I know.  I’d always been a pleasure rider so the fast paced stuff was very invigorating.  At that time I was also introduced to the “Doc Bar” horse.  My first time cutting cows was on Docs Voyager, a NCHA Bronze award winner and an own son of Doc Bar.  Needless to say, I was hooked.  These outstanding, smart, beautiful, all around performance horses now dominate our breeding program.

Gold Tomato (aka Tommy), our breeding stallion, is the son of the great Docs Voyager and a grandson of the famous AQHA Hall of* Fame stallion, Doc Bar.  He breeds temperament, performance and beauty into all of his babies.
